Temple Restoration Project

Thank You For Your Financial Support!

Why Give?

Ainad Shriners building will be 100 years old in 2023 and is in need of significant renovations in order to allow us to continue our philanthropic tradition of helping children. Much of the building and its systems remain untouched by upgrades or replacement since they were first installed during the original construction of 1923 and have far outlasted their anticipated lifecycle and in some cases are becoming safety risks and are costly to operate and maintain. Since we began our restoration process in early 2016, we have replaced many of our damaged and leaking roofs; repaired, pointed and sealed the masonry and terra cotta; and replaced the exterior windows with energy efficient units that are similar in aesthetics to the original 1923 design to help stop the deterioration of the interior and exterior. We have completed the process of replacing our electrical service and select portions of the electrical distribution, added toilet facilities for both men and ladies to the first floor, and updated our heating and cooling to energy efficient zoned systems. The result of these energy efficient upgrades has lowered our utility costs and now we are both heating and cooling our large facility for less than it cost to provide heat for the facility. We are also saving money on our insurance due to removing the boiler and replacing with the newer efficient systems.

Since our process has begun, we have raised over $500K but have a long way to go to complete the process. In order to execute the next highest priorities which are to replace the remaining original cloth insulated electrical wiring; upgrade our security systems; and repair/patch and paint our walls and ceilings which were damaged by the previously leaking exterior envelope, we need your help to help fund the work necessary to do so.

Our goal is to raise $1 million dollars to renovate our facility and celebrate its 100th Anniversary in 2023. We know this is a significant undertaking and believe it is the best for the future of Ainad Shriners. We are asking you to donate to the Ainad Building Restoration Fund in the amount that best fits your ability to give. In fact, we would hope you can provide a commitment for several years in order to meet our goal. There are several levels of giving for individuals and units/corporations.

While we are asking you to help us with our renovation process, it is important to note that your gift will not be tax deductible. While Ainad is a non-profit organization, it is a 501(c)(10) charity and therefore none of the funds being donated towards the Building Restoration Fund will reach any of the Shriners Hospitals for Children. This makes it even more important for you to support our Capital Campaign. Those who give to our Capital Campaign will receive recognition in our monthly bulletin, our website and on a donor recognition display which will be prominently displayed in our building.

How to Give and Donor Recognition

Through our donor recognition program, we extend our gratitude to you for helping Ainad Shriners to fulfill its mission. Ainad Shriners has adopted our Donor Recognition Program in an effort to seek to honor and value you, the donor, and the support you have given to our Capital Campaign for our Building Restoration Project. The following are the levels of giving for the Capital Campaign which will continue through 31 December 2023:

Mobirise

Clubs/Corporate

Friend: $1,000 - 2,499
Contributor: $2,500-4,999
Innovator: $5,000-7,499

Builder: $10,000-24,999
Master Builder: $25,000-49,999
Centurion: $50,000 and up

Mobirise

Individual/Family

Donor: Up to $99
Friend: $100-249
Contributor: $250-499
Innovator: $500-749
Leader: $750-999
Builder: $1,000-4,999
Master Builder: $5,000-9,999
Centurion: $10,000 and up

We understand that not everyone has the ability to contribute at the same level, so in order to allow individuals and organizations to reach higher levels of giving, pledges can be made over multiple years. However, all pledges must be paid in full in order to be recognized for the specific level of giving. If a pledge is not paid in full, the donor will be recognized only for the amount received once it has been determined no further funds are forthcoming from the specific donor. Example: Individual Donor A gives $100 in 2016, $150 in 2018 and $250 in 2023. This equates to Friend in 2016, Contributor in 2018 and ends with a cumulative total of $500 in 2023, providing the donor the final level of giving of Innovator.

All donors will be given recognition at the end of the campaign on the Ainad Shriners website and at the buildings Rededication Celebration. Donors from Friend through Centurion levels of giving will have their name included on a permanent plaque to be located in a prominent location of the building. Those who provide a donation of $1,000 or larger will also receive a gift from Ainad to show our gratitude. The Rededication will be held in the Fall of 2023 at the 100th Anniversary Celebration of the building. Monthly payment plans can be arranged if so desired.

Bequests or In Memory of donations are also available for recognition. As with all giving, the recognition will occur once the actual giving has occurred. Recognition for this category of giving is available outside the dates of the Capital Campaign. Ainad Shriners recommends that prior to a commitment or decision is made, donors should seek qualified legal counsel and always consult with an independent financial advisor.

Naming rights exist for larger donations. The naming of corridors, restrooms, office, and other spaces is available if a donor is interested. This will be done on a case by case basis and will require a pledge of 2x the actual cost to renovate that specific space or system. Individual Uniformed Units rooms are not available for this opportunity. If naming rights are of interest to a donor, the rights will be limited and will require Ainad Board approval prior to acceptance of the pledge and naming of the space. We will not recognize political parties or organizations deemed offensive to the general public or Ainad Shriners.

While this is an extensive and significant undertaking, it is important to complete it as expeditiously as possible. This helps avoid further cost inflation of materials and labor and will allow us to be able to fully utilize our facility for our internal functions and rentals to others sooner than later. We will receive bids from contractors and suppliers who are qualified to perform the work for the major systems and equipment which provides our Nobles with a warranty and reduces our internal risk. Other, less critical activities will be performed by self-help or donated goods and services. If you are a qualified contractor, architect or engineer who is willing to donate services or suppliers who will donate materials or equipment or know those who are, we would like to hear from you.
